Shanahan: Samuel's Hamstring Injury To Sideline 49ers Receiver Weeks
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. is expected to be sidelined "at least a couple of weeks" after injuring his hamstring during Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks, head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters. Samuel was ruled out in the third quarter after the injury occurred on a play near the sideline.
Samuel fell to the ground while running toward the sideline, fumbling the ball before training staff attended to him. He was able to walk off the field under his own power but held his right leg as he did so, before being officially ruled out for the remainder of the game. futsal odds
The injury compounded a difficult afternoon for San Francisco in Seattle. Earlier in the game, linebacker Dre Greenlaw was ejected in the second quarter after headbutting Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV during a sideline altercation that followed a late hit on Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold.
Samuel is playing his first season back with the 49ers after spending last season with the Washington Commanders, where he recorded 72 catches for 727 yards and five touchdowns. He returned to San Francisco this offseason on a one-year contract. With Samuel expected to miss time, Brandin Cooks - who caught a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter - is positioned to take on a larger share of the receiving workload while the 49ers await further clarity on Samuel's recovery timeline.
