Tiger Woods arrested on DUI charge after rollover crash in Florida

Martin County, Florida, Sheriff's Office took Tiger Woods into custody following a rollover crash on Jupiter Island on March 27, 2026.[1][2]

Sheriff John Budensiek said at a press conference that Woods was travelling at a high rate of speed when his vehicle collided with another car and rolled over onto the driver's side. Woods exited the vehicle by crawling out the passenger side.[1][2]

DUI investigators noted signs of impairment. Woods registered 0.000 on a breath test for alcohol but refused a urine test. He was charged with driving under the influence, property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test.[1][2]

Woods, a U.S. professional golfer with 15 major championship victories, including five Masters titles, resides in the Jupiter area of Florida.[3][4]

He co-founded the TGL technology-based golf league and owns the Jupiter Links Golf Club team, which played a match on March 23, 2026, at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens.[5][6]

Woods has prior driving incidents, including a 2017 DUI arrest in Palm Beach County on prescription medications and a February 2021 single-vehicle crash in California that caused leg injuries.[7][8]

In 2024, Woods competed in five PGA Tour-sanctioned events: he withdrew from the Genesis Invitational, missed the cut at the Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open and Open Championship.[3][9]

The 2026 Masters Tournament is scheduled for April 9-12 at Augusta National Golf Club.[10]
